The Elephant ⧸ Verse 326

Once did this heart wander and roam
As it listed, where it liked, just as it pleased:
To-day completely shall I hold it in,
As a mahout the furious elephant.
English translation by Albert Edmunds, from Hymns of the Faith (Dhammapada) (1902).
