Tasiṇāya purakkhatā pajā parisappanti saso va bādhito
Saṃyojanasaṅgasattā dukkhamupenti punappunaṃ cirāya

Encircled with craving,
people hop round & around
like a rabbit caught in a snare.
Tied with fetters & bonds
they go on to suffering,
again & again, for long.
