Thought ⧸ Verse 40

Knowing that this body is like a potters vessel,
Stablishing this heart like a fort,
Subjugate the Tempter with the sword of intellect;
And when he is conquered, guard him,
And be without abode.
English translation by Albert Edmunds, from Hymns of the Faith (Dhammapada) (1902).
